The Challenge -- Day 97

Today's Scripture: Luke 8:19-39
(Click on the link to read today's scripture.)

Did you read verses 38 and 39? The man Jesus healed wanted to go with Him... literally begged to get in the boat. Jesus told him "No." He had a different purpose for the man at this point: "Go and proclaim what God has done for you."

Some say God answers prayer in three ways...Yes...No...Wait. How do you respond when Jesus says no? Are you the two year old who throws a fit, or the teen who tries to convince Him your way is right? Maybe you are the young adult who decides to do it your own way no matter what Jesus says. No matter what our age, we do not like to hear "No." Sometimes Jesus says No because He has another plan.

Lord Jesus, may I receive Your "No" with grace.
Remind me that Your plan and purpose in a "No"
will lead to something far greater than I could
ever dream or imagine.

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him..."
1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV84
