The Challenge -- Day 147

Today's Scripture: John 7:53 - 8:30
[If your Bible's out of reach, click the reference to read online.]

Jesus said: I am the light of the world. Light reveals what is true, washes away darkness, shows us the way.

In this passage, we see Jesus reveal the hearts of those who brought the adulteress to Him. All are guilty of sin.

He washed away the darkness of the woman's previous life. He did not condemn: ...go, and from now on sin no more.

He shines light on His own identity as He witnessed about Himself, revealing Himself as Savior: ...unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.

Those who follow Him will never walk in the dark. He shows us the way to have the light of life. After all, what is darker than death?

God brings light into our life. We no longer have to walk around in the darkness of deception, death, ignorance, and confusion. He shows us the Way when we believe -- trust in -- Jesus, the Word made flesh.

Father God, wash all traces of darkness from my life.
I long to follow You and live in the light of life.
Bless me with the faith and courage to stand fully in Your light
and allow You to reveal the dark places in my heart that need to go.
