The Challenge--Day 24

Today's Scripture:  Matthew 15: 21-39
(Click on the link to read the scripture.)

The story of the Canaanite woman seems uncomfortable. Let's focus on the woman's response. Please remember she was not considered a child of God, but a foreigner. Desperate for the healing she knelt before Jesus and even called him "Lord." This woman was willing to humble herself before Jesus in order to receive the healing.

Being humble in today's world is not considered a great character trait. The scriptures warn us pride goes before the fall. Are there areas in your life where you are proud? What would it take to become humble in these areas?

Help me, Lord, to stay humbly dependent on You.
Remind me each morning, my heart beats only by Your grace,
my next breath is not dependent on me but You.
You, alone, are the source of all that I have, am, and will be.
Remind me, Lord, apart from You I have no good thing.
