Beyond the Gospels: Acts

Today's Scripture: Acts 17:1-15

At this point in our reading through Acts, we've seen many of Paul's trials as a Christian missionary. I'm reminded of Jesus's words to Ananias regarding Paul:

For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.
Acts 9:16 ESV

And as noted last week, Jesus taught His disciples: If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.

And I wonder... Have I suffered for the sake of His name? been persecuted?

What about you? Are you stirring up the world around you by being His disciple? Have you been an annoying light in a world that prefers to stay in the dark?

Lord, forgive me for the opportunities I've missed to be a light in the dark.
Forgive me for thinking suffering is a sign that You don't love me.
Embolden me for Your use in the world.
