Songs of Praise: Psalm 78:32-72

Let's complete Psalm 78 today.
(Click on the link to read verses 32-72.)

Yet he was merciful;
    he forgave their iniquities
    and did not destroy them.
Time after time he restrained his anger
    and did not stir up his full wrath.
 He remembered that they were but flesh,
    a passing breeze that does not return.

Psalm 78:38-39

God, the one who hung the stars in the sky, and counts the wild animals in the Sahara. The God who was and is and is to come is merciful to us. To me and you. The writer tells us God remembers we are but flesh, and restrains His full wrath on our behalf.

So when you are weary with yourself, feeling like you can't get anything right. Wondering if you'll ever overcome the desires of your flesh. Take heart! God knows your weakness and pours out mercy in the form of His Son.

How glorious! Just thinking about it overwhelms my soul.

Thank You, Lord. Thank You.
