Jesus refers to the Law of Moses for the basic principle of guidance.

God calls for us to live in peace with a strong stress on faithfulness, and on grace. He has provided for mutual support and love for growth in marriage. But at times the ideal is not realized and a divorce is the outcome.

Sometimes marriages become so distorted that divorce seems the best option. Jesus called for a permanent relationship. Even though remarriage falls short of the ideal, be thankful for forgiving grace.

Father God, Your law is perfect,
it is my own hardness of heart that keeps me from
following Your commands in all areas of my life.
Work in my heart, soften it for Your Word,
I want to walk in Your Way, because it is perfect.

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
Psalm 19:7-8 NIV84
