Peter denied being with Jesus. Maybe he was scared? Maybe he was doubting all that he had seen? Maybe he didn't really even think about it... his answer was just a reaction in a stressful circumstance?
We rarely find it difficult to claim Jesus as Lord. We are blessed to live in a country where freedom of religion reigns. So let's rejoice! Every time you pass a church today give thanks.
Father God, thank You for the freedom to claim Jesus as Lord.
Embolden us to do so even when we might find it difficult.
Bless us with the grace and faith to be joyfully united
with other brothers and sisters in Christ, no matter the denomination.
