Strengthening by the Spirit in our inner being --- our mind, will, and emotion --- is required for Christ to live in our hearts through faith.
The Spirit strengthens Believers by revealing Christ's great love for us as individuals and as a corporate body. He helps us grow in the understanding of His love that surpasses knowledge.
Spiritual strength increases as we begin to firmly grasp and become rooted in His love for us.
We only let Jesus rule in our hearts when we know His love. Its unsurpassed breadth, length, height, and depth. Understanding His love opens up our spirits to His presence to rule and reign. The more we know He loves us the more we are willing to step out and live for Him. The more we know His love, the more we trust Him.
Trust, in biblical terms, is faith.
By faith, by trust, He dwells in our hearts.
Do you know His love well enough to trust Him?
Do you reveal His life in you through obedience to His Word? to His Spirit?
Seek strengthening from the Spirit. Ask for understanding of His love. This is a prayer that will be answered: Yes.
Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7 ESV
Father God, bless me by the power of Your Spirit
with knowledge of Christ's great unfailing love for me!
I want Him to live in my heart, to rule and to reign.
Strengthen my spirit by Your grace.
