Songs of Praise: Psalm 72

Let's praise God in the reading of Psalm 72
[Click on the link to read the verses.]

I read right down to the end of this psalm, and the final verse reads:

This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse.
Psalm 72:20

Did you notice the last words we hear from David? Go back, reread them. What did you notice?

David's last psalm is a song of blessing and prayer. He praises the one true God, he prays for land, people, and king.

May his name endure forever;
may it continue as long as the sun.
Then all nations will be blessed through him,
and they will call him blessed.

Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
who alone does marvelous deeds.
Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.
Psalm 72:17-29
Sing your own song of blessing this day. Give praise and thanks to the One True God. Ask for blessing, pray for others. Tell others of the great and marvelous deeds God has done for you.
 Father God, open my eyes to see all the infinite ways to praise You. Turn my heart toward others to pray for them as You do.
