Beyond the Gospels: Revelation

Today's Scripture: Revelation 11:15-19

The seventh angel blew his trumpet. At its sound the heavens sang out good news:

"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord

and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever."

Revelation 11:15

The announcement of His Kingdom coming to earth.
Recognize the answer to the prayer we pray each week in worship?

Your kingdom come, your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:10 ESV

This is good news! His Kingdom will come to earth at the sound of the seventh trumpet. But for now we still wait. Yet we can live today as if His Kingdom has already come. His Kingdom rules our lives if not the nations of the earth. His Spirit lives in our hearts in Jesus's name.

We can live before Him now, as the twenty-four elders before His throne:

"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,

who is and who was, for you have taken your great power

and begun to reign. ..."

Let us live each day, waiting for His return as those currently in His presence, with thanksgiving and obedience. Giving thanks for His coming Kingdom, giving thanks for His reign on earth, which begins in our lives with obedience to the Holy Spirit.

Lord, fill my heart with thanksgiving as I wait for Your answer to prayer:

Your Kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Teach me to live in Your Kingdom now, thankful and obedient,

under Your reign by the power of the Holy Spirit.
