In the psalms, we hear the psalmists pour out their hearts to God. Fear, worry, doubt, despair, frustration, joy, thanks, hope, praise. There are no limits to the range of emotions we find in the psalms. The psalmists teach us how to pray. Show us how we can bring anything to God and He will respond by revealing Himself and changing our hearts.
As we read through Psalms, look for the prayers you can take as your own in this season of life. The ones echoing the cry in your heart right now. Take them as your prayers to God. You will be blessed.
Those who seek God in prayer to learn how to follow His way during a confusing time, and long to avoid the wicked way of the world will find themselves blessed.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2 ESV
Prayer is a means of finding refuge in God during difficult times. When we call on Him rather than fighting our own fight, we find the blessing and protection of His presence.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 2:12 ESV
He alone has made the way for salvation through Jesus. When we remember this truth, call on His name, there will be blessing. The more time we spend with Him, growing our faith through prayerful obedience, the more confident we are of the blessings to come.
Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people!
Psalm 3:8 ESV
Lord, as I journey through the Psalms deepen my prayer life.
Open my heart to connect with You on a deeper level.
Open my ears and eyes to recognize the blessings of drawing near You in faith.
