Imagine John in this moment... stuck on an island because of his testimony of Jesus. I'm amazed by a man exiled to an island who continues to practice the "Lord's day." Though there is some argument about what day of the week the "Lord's day" actually was, most agree the Lord's day was a weekly celebration of the Resurrection. Here he is on an island with no other fellow Believers and continues to worship and observe the Sabbath.
It leads me to ask the question to you... to myself. If you had no building to go to, no Believers to join with, would you still worship weekly? What would it look like? How would you lead and participate in worship?
Worship is not a spectator sport. When we prepare our hearts throughout the week to participate in worship, God is faithful to reveal Himself in the music and His Word. So let's get ready for worship. Let's prepare our hearts this week through prayer and seeking Him in His Word. Let's join together Sunday and be amazed by the things He reveals.
Lord Jesus, teach me to worship.
Prepare my heart to bless You with worship even when I'm alone.
