Today's Scripture: Luke 11:1-23
(Click on the link to read today's scripture.)
It's Sunday. Every Sunday morning we pray this scripture we know as the Lord's prayer. If I'm honest there are times I'm just going through the motions. The words spilling forth without much thought. Let's take some time to give it more thought today.
Begin with praise. "Father, hallowed be your name." Continue to praise Him a little while longer. Tell Him who He is to you, what you love most about Him.
Surrender. "Your kingdom come." Let go of your own agenda, your own way. Place your plans at the altar in surrender.
Ask for provision. "Give us each day our daily bread." Ask God for those things you are trusting Him to provide.
Repent. "And forgive us our sins..." Ask Him to show you specific sin in your life, those attitudes and actions you justify and defend. Come into agreement with Him regarding your sin.
Forgive. "...for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us." Don't allow bitterness to take root in your soul. Forgive...
Ask for protection. "And do not bring us to the time of trial." Ask Him to open your eyes to the places, relationships, and circumstances which make you vulnerable. Ask Him to steer you clear of these areas.
Thank Him for all He has done... all He is going to do.
Amen.
